66795_the_batmobile Ugly Alternative Fuel CarsYou know, here we are in a crisis in our environment. We are making automobiles by the thousands each day that use gasoline instead of an alternative fuel sources and spend billions of dollars each year on marketing research on the looks of these gas hogs, but they still make the hybrids and alternative fuel vehicles to look like the “Bat Mobile” or an M&M. Why is this?

What is it with the automobile manufactures that makes them think that I want to put my family of six in a little bitty M&M to drive across state to go on a family trip. Impossible right? Right. I know the idea is to go small and compact to make you feel as if your saving the environment by not putting a huge hunk of steal on the road. But come on, with the amount of money being spent on the production of gasoline running vehicles, why can’t they put a little more into the design of the bio friendly vehicles. Every picture you see of an alternative fuel car it’s got to look like a bubble craft. I will tip my hat to some of the manufactures that have taken the existing sellers and made them into hybrids, one example is the Chevy Suburban Hybrid, kudos to you.

I just had to put this out there in the hopes that the next step in environmental friendly automobiles will at least have some visual appeal along with the go green appeal.
